I was born on Tuesday March 27th in Coral Gables, Florida, a suburb right in the heart of Miami. When I was 7, my father moved the whole family to northeastern Tennessee where I spent the next 11 years of my life.
I grew up in quaint southern town called Johnson City with my younger brother and sister. My father drove a truck for a local auto parts company and my mother was a stay at home mom who enjoyed baking cookies and having lingerie parties (this explains my infatuation with sexy lingerie). My parents divorced when I was 15 and my father remarried shortly thereafter.
In junior high, I took gymnastics, studied dance, ran track and spent a significant amount of time exploring the outdoors. I have always been very adventurous and athletic even at such a young age. I wasn’t much into any of the girly stuff like playing with dolls. In fact, I never even owned a Barbie. What little girl doesn’t own a Barbie?
In my freshman year of high school, I started competing in teen beauty pageants and in my sophomore year, I got 1st place in one of the local beauty competitions. I was ecstatic over how well I did in the pageant. This is what actually got me interested in modeling.
After graduating high school, I moved back to Florida to attend college. I made the dean’s list in my 1st semester of school and due to unfortunate events, I ended up having to drop out after my 3rd semester.
Several years ago, I decided to try my hand at school again taking courses like: business, accounting and art history. I was still unable to find my niche. In 2004, I enrolled in beauty school and received my skin care license. Then, I went on to makeup artistry school where I got my certificate in multi-media makeup artistry. My instructor from school said she wanted to see me in some of the magazines and suggested I start modeling. I though she had lost her mind.
Well, here I am a year and a half later. I have become a model/entrepreneur and I’ve been featured in several publications such as: American Curves, Maxim Espanol, FHM, ads in the duPont Registry to a cover and a fashion editorial in a South Florida magazine. I have done several calendars and even hosted a half hour show for ESPN. I’m the President/CEO of Wendy Kennedy, Inc. I recently moved back to Tennessee to be closer to my family and to get more focused on my career. My work is my art and it has been an excellent outlet for me to express myself creatively.
Some of my hobbies and interests include: working out, cooking, reading, traveling, sporting events, spending time with my family & friends, dancing, shopping and doing almost anything that’s spontaneous.
